As a dental hygienist, I was unfulfilled at work, burned out, and I felt like my job was stealing the best of me while my family got the rest of me. Our culture wants to define self care as bubble baths, giant pieces of chocolate cake, girls nights out, and spa days. And while these things are nice, they often times seem so out of reach. Self care shouldn't be about treating ourselves (although treating ourselves is important too!) but rather it should be more about forming healthy, daily habits and caring for ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually.
In this episode, I'm going to talk about the true definition of self care. Let's move closer to creating daily, healthy habits together!
I'll share 5 key components of self care in this episode. We will discuss:
1. Establishing daily habits that care for your physical health.
2. Learning to be introspective and listen to your mind and body.
3. Defining and enforcing boundaries.
4. Guarding the doors to your mind.
5. Treating yourself.
I'll then share with you HOW to implement these daily habits and create a life where self care is just part of our routine instead of something you run to when you feel like life has pushed you to your limit.

Well, for better or worse, it's true.
The people you surround yourself with matter. Just as a multi-national, multi-billion dollar company carefully considers who sits on their board of directors, so should you carefully consider who you allow to sit on your board of directors.
So, are you surrounding yourself with people who raise you up, encourage you to be the best version of yourself and celebrate the milestone wins along the way? Or are the people you surround yourself with actually lowering your standards?

I had 2 separate training calls, both centering around excuses.
The new book I started reading was talking about excuses.
A friend in my Push group recommended a podcast... you guessed it, about excuses.
So I knew that God was trying to tell me something. I sat down, examined my recent behaviors and realized that I was falling out of some of the habits I had worked so hard to establish. I was making excuses.
